10 Years at GQ – Jeff Laird

June 1st, 2014
Jeff Laird – April 2014 After a long personal search for spiritual answers, I came across Got Questions. I wished I'd known about it earlier, so I volunteered to help, and it quickly became a cornerstone of my personal ministry work. Back-story: My parents raised me in a solidly Christian home, and faith was an important part of my childhood. Some of my favorite memories are Baptist summer camps and Vacation Bible School. Once I hit my teen years, though, the faith I had didn't come close to competing with peer pressure and sexual temptation. . . .

Jim Braden – October 2014

This simplest statement about me is this: I was a hopeless, drunken sailor when I was 20.  After a Navy shipmate shared his faith with me, I was saved the next day when I placed my complete trust in Jesus.  Since then, God has given me a desire to share my faith with others.  I was born a sinner, but I was born-again a saint.  Thirty years of my life was spent in or around the US Military, and now I am a chaplain to veterans, for whatever years I have left.

10 Years at GQ – Polly Gwinn

Polly Gwinn – October 2014 My reason for starting with GotQuestions is very simple.  I needed an answer to a question and contacted GotQuestions site.  At the time you were looking for writers and asked me to join the forces which I willingly and quickly accepted.  This work for the Lord has turned into the deepest Bible study of my lifetime since most of the questions are quite different and complicated and require searching the Scripture for answers.  I have experienced many personal trials since the time I connected with this site . . .

10 Years at GQ – Vera Rudolph

Vera Rudolph – October 2014 I found the Got Questions website when I was looking for an answer to a Bible question and received the answer promptly. Then I was offered the opportunity to receive the question of the week, so I signed up for that. A while later a request for volunteer writers was issued, so I applied and was accepted. The reason I first started answering questions is that I found it challenging to find the answer in God's Word. I have been taught at church that as Believers we should be able to give an answer for the hope . . .

In the fall of 2003 I prayed:  "Lord, what more can I do for You?" In just a few days a friend told me about a new internet ministry, Got Questions, and it was needing more writers on their volunteer staff to answer questions that came in. Would I be interested? I did not even need to pray about this, but considered it an answer to my prayer. After applying, I became a staff member. October 2013 was my ten-year anniversary, with some time-outs for illnesses. Here I am, almost 90 years old, living alone as a widow in a little town in . . .

Eleven years ago, my daughter MeLissa and her husband Shea asked me to consider answering questions for GotQuestions.org. They were struggling to answer the increasing number of questions that they were receiving in the early days of the ministry. I was pastoring a small church in Iowa and also had a full time job at a local public school. I didn’t have a lot of extra time, but would give it a try. I did not type or use the internet at all, but my wife was very capable, so we teamed up on the job. We answered a few questions assigned to us and . . .

Shea, ten years ago on the tenth of this month (October), you welcomed me aboard the writing staff at Got Questions. I keep the original e-mail in a special folder. The passing of time has brought me many blessings through the opportunities that you have graced me with. I am so very grateful to you Shea for welcoming me and working with me. And over the years I have been fortunate to work with all of the staff editors and to name them all is impossible for I fear I would leave someone out. I thank and bless them all. My opportunity started out . . .

I started writing for GotQuestions when my friend and former neighbor, Howard Eppler, became too ill to continue writing.  Because of the need for writers, he asked if I would be interested in that kind of ministry.  I prayed, and decided to give it a try, trusting that if God could use me, I would be so happy to serve Him in such a meaningful way.  Because of my background, there seemed very little I couldn't identify with in some way, so I told Shea that I preferred to take questions concerning family-related issues/problems. My main reason . . .
