GQM VALUE — INTEGRITY TO GOD’S WORD: It will come as no surprise to you that a core value for GQM is integrity to God’s Word. Our tagline says, “Got questions? The Bible has answers. We’ll help you find them.” Every response is intended to be grounded in, and specifically point to, the truth of God’s Word. We explain this value as, “Upholding the truth of God’s Word by providing biblically and theologically sound content in a clear and understandable manner.” What does that look like for Q&A?

• Be sure to include specific verses in your response. We want questioners to know where the answer is coming from. This allows them opportunity to test it for themselves as well as models what it looks like to go to God’s Word for truth and wisdom.
• Point out useful exegetical skills, like understanding verses in context. You can walk questioners through how you formulated your answer to show them what it looks like to rightly divide and understand the Word.
• Define words or Christian jargon that might be confusing to certain questioners. Often you can include a link to a site article to give an easy option for questioners to learn foundational information while keeping your response concise.
• When appropriate, allude to the grander narrative of the Bible or core theological concepts to give the questioner a broader view and framework of the full counsel of God.
• Delineate between personal opinion or advice and statements of truth.
• When appropriate, mention concepts of theological triage. It’s okay to point out where believers disagree on secondary issues and how to go about determining what is primary, secondary, tertiary, etc.
