James Toland January 13, 2016 I'm probably opening a can of worms here, so apologies in advance, but I really am curious as to what y'all think about this article from John Piper,http://www.desiringgod.org/…/should-christians-be-encourage… It is supposed to be focused primarily on Christians and concealed carry but he actually takes a stance against self-defense and defense of others, even family members altogether and that if this truly is not our home and we believe God is in control, we should never defend . . .

Julie Kimani November 16, 2015 I have a question that I am trying to sort out in my head, unsuccessfully. My pastor was talking about predestination, God's sovereignty, and free will yesterday. John 6:44, "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day." These are those people who are predestined for heaven (Romans 8:30), correct? If that's the case, it seems to me that this insinuates that there will be those that are NOT drawn. Meaning they are predestined not . . .

So, I put a brief scripture study together for them (pasted at the bottom if you're interested). The discussion was far richer than I thought it might be. I was encouraged that they were able to identify unhealthy spiritual practices and experimentation in today's culture. I was further encouraged that most of them had a great grasp of God's power and protection over us. . . .

And every time I hear that it is always in reference to what that person desires or wants to do. Here's an example, someone said, that God told him that him and his wife (who was already pregnant) were going to have a son and that they were to name the child a specific name. Each week he asks me my thoughts. Tomorrow's questions/discussion is: Do angels have souls? I know they do not have bodies and they are spirits.
