Regarding a Catholic Neighbor

September 13th, 2014
Robert Lowry‎Got Questions Writers September 12 I have a neighbor I talk with regularly. He comes out of the Catholic church. He seems to sincerely believe in all the important things about becoming a Christian, e.g. that there is sin in his life, that it is necessary to repent of sin, that Jesus died in our place for sin, that Jesus was raised from the dead and lives today, and that salvation is only through Jesus Christ. He says he believes in all this, and yet, he does not seem to have appropriated Jesus' saving grace . . .

On Baptism in a Denomination with Which You Disagree

September 12th, 2014
Tim White 17 hrs I am conflicted on this question. "Why is it a bad idea to get baptized in a denomination you have disagreements with?" My first thoughts is that there are not qualification on the baptizer, but on the one to be baptized. What am I missing? Websites for Synonyms

September 11th, 2014
Kristi-Joy Matovich September 8 at 3:02pm Since we all write for GQ and I'm sure many do for other venues as well, here's a really neat resource I just discovered for synonyms! It'swww.synonym-finder.com, and www.graphwords.com. Both have a very extensive database, but what I particularly love about graphwords.com is that it visually traces each word back to the root. The two are run by the same folks, so if you go to synonym-finder, you can just hit the blue "graph words" button in the upper right-hand corner. . . .

Domestic Violence Blog Request

September 11th, 2014
Elizabeth DeVore Yesterday at 1:39pm · Colorado Springs, CO Between Ray and Janay Rice and a really odd question I got yesterday from a newlywed who punched her husband because "men need discipline," I was thinking Blogos could use an article on domestic violence. Any takers? It could be from a biblical, counseling, and/or personal perspective. Pseudonyms welcome. Email me at you-know-what. LikeLike · · 12 Seen by 34 Kristi-Joy Matovich wow. Israel and Gas Fields

September 9th, 2014
Steve Ray Webb September 7 at 1:14am Many people do not realize that the economic climate in Israel is about to undergo a huge shift due to the discovery of two huge gas fields offshore Israel that are named Tamar and Leviathan. This will make Israel energy self sufficient for at least the next 25 years, along with giving them a huge boost in export profits. If America is losing the moral courage to stand behind Israel (as evidenced by this administration), God may be replacing her with other means. LikeLike . . .

Same-sex attraction and Robert Gallaty

September 9th, 2014
A same-sex-attracted friend of mine recently posted about a message given by Tennessee pastor Robby Gallaty that purportedly says gay people should be killed. I listened to the message and the church was gracious enough to send me a transcript. 98% of the message is really good stuff. 2% is (I believe) he got excited and didn't realize what he was saying. I have a question out to them to clarify one point. If you'd like a copy of the transcript, email me at beth at gotquestions dot org. If we get a lot of questions about it, I'll write up a . . .

Question on Aramaic English New Testament (AENT)

September 9th, 2014
Michael Reed McKenney September 8 at 7:54am · Edited My latest question has me stumped. I have no idea how to answer this question, and was hoping for some thoughts and/or an idea of where to find answers. Here's the question: "Do yall know anything about the Aramaic English New Testament A.E.N.T? Or the overall topic of proof/facts that the apostles did all indeed write the N.T. in Greek, not Aramaic or even Hebrew? Any light shed on this would be great!" LikeLike · Seen by . . .
