“Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.” – James 1:16-18 (ESV)

For Laughs
If you did not catch the joke exchange on the Facebook page, here are a few you might enjoy:
A pastor was running late for a counseling session, and couldn't find parking anywhere near the office building he was headed to. Desperate to make it on time, he pulled into a "no parking" zone, and left a note on his windshield, which said: "I'm a minister who's circled this block 10 times, and I'll be late if I don't park here. Forgive us our trespasses, Matthew 6:12." When he got back, there was a ticket waiting for him. Written on the envelope, it . . .
Isaiah 53 (“Suffering Servant”) and the Nation of Israel
Ed Chait
April 29, 2015
This is a question of mine that I thought I would ask at the best place I know to ask questions. What are good arguments that Israel cannot be the Suffering Servant in Isaiah 53?

Ed Romero and Jinny Leo like this.
Robert Lowry Because the verses so clearly describe the person of Jesus, rather than a nation? (just like 42:1-9 and 49:1-7)

What does the “for” mean in Genesis 3:16?

In Genesis 3:16 the English Standard Version has a footnote after "for" which says "or against." (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/…) For and against seem to be opposed to one another so I'm guessing that this Hebrew word is not translated very easily into English. Can someone help clarify its meaning?

"What are the qual for a woman to teach a women's bible study?
Specifically there's a lady in my church that will be leading our ladies, but she doesn't attend any functions outside of church, including Sunday School, all of which she used to do. Something's off and I know my pastor is aware of this and has spoken to her. He just encouraged us to be like the Bereans and test everything, . . .
Help with a Q&A on gut instincts
John McPhaill

Of jolly urgency I ask, is there an interpretation of the question's specific species of asking here, or what is wanting to be known by this:
"Did God gave us instinct or gut feeling?"
Graciousness aboundeth grace,

Sarah Van Baale I probably wouldn't answer that question directly. Instead I'd mention that gut feelings, instinct, intuition, etc. are often triggered by our physical senses noticing small things . . .
Help with a Q&A on rape

OK GotQuestions family, I have a bit of a tricky one. I've been mulling it over last night and this morning, and I think I have a broad idea of where I want to go with the answer, but because of all the emotions and social issues tied up in the matter, I was wondering if any of you had run into a question like this:
"Is there a difference between the kind of violent rape we see today and the 'rape' of the Old Testament? Particularly the rape of Dinah in Genesis 34. Hamor claims to love Dinah, . . .
Shea presenting at The Navigators

Shea had the honor of presenting GotQuestions at a Navigators conference this morning. It went really well and it was truly an honor to be invited. One lady came up to him afterward and said, "I know you must be a geek, but I couldn't tell that from your presentation." LOL! She then proceeded to ask him to fix her phone... which he did.
