Writer Discussion on how the doctrine of a “Second Blessing” affects a church

May 6th, 2015
Ed Chait May 4 at 12:20am ยท Edited My wife and I were talking today about the doctrine of a second "baptism of the Holy Spirit" as a separate and distinct event from the indwelling of the Holy Spirit at the moment of salvation. In addition to there being no significant scriptural support for this, we both thought it essentially produces two classes of believers. Those who have attained the requirements for or been favored with this second blessing and those who haven't. I haven't had all that much exposure to this . . .

Robbie Holmes uploaded a file in the group: Got Questions Writers. May 5, 2015 Hey guys, this is a bit nerdy but I keep a record of user hits over the past years and though it might inspire you all to continue in this great ministry. RECOMMENDED RESOURCES โ€“ PLEASE GIVE US YOUR SUGGESTIONS

May 4th, 2015

At the suggestion of one of our writers (thank you, Chris Dupre!), we’re compiling a list of recommended resources for our volunteers. Please tell us what websites, books, tools, etc. you use to help with your answers or in your own Christian walk. It would be great if you could include a little blurb about what the site or tool offers and whether it is free to use. Please email your suggestions to Gwen@GotQuestions.org by May 20th.

Praises and Prayer Requests – May 2015

May 4th, 2015
We value your prayers for us. Thank you for them! This month please especially pray: 1. That our questioners would ask with tender hearts and be led into truth and freedom. We are thrilled at changes we've seen in some of our frequent questioners and pray that God would continue to work in their hearts and lives. What a privilege to take part in His work. 2. That our writers would know God's presence in their lives and would sense His equipping for responding to questions. We praise God for the things He is doing in your lives and the way . . .

Sample Q&As from April

Question: Hello, Does the Bible say anything about a person refusing to offer a business service to another person due to moral/religious values? Thanks Jorge Answered by: Ed Romero, who has been a volunteer with us since July 2011. Answer: Hi, Jorge! Thank you for question. This is a really nuanced subject which really isn't black and white. The Bible doesn't say (that I know of) to whom we can or can't offer services. However, it does give us permission to buy from pagans. For example, in 1 Corinthians, they were allowed to even buy meat . . .
