Praises and Prayer Requests – November 2014

November 3rd, 2014
Praises and Prayer Requests: Thank you for praying for us. This month please specifically pray for: 1. We praise God for an excellent month, both statistically and financially in October. Please pray that the same would be true in November. 2. We are starting to set priorities and make concrete plans for 2015. Please pray that we would have very clear direction from the Lord. 3. Please pray for provision and protection for the ministry, us, and our families. Please let us know if we can be praying for you in a specific way. . . .

Thanksgiving Scriptures and Quotes

November 3rd, 2014
"Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! […] Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and he is to be feared above all gods. […] Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!" – 1 Chronicles 16:8-9, 23-25, 34   "To . . .

Thoughts on QOTW – What does the Bible say about Ghosts and Hauntings

November 3rd, 2014
Robbie Holmes November 3 at 3:59am Hi Guys n Gals, just a thought on the weekly GQ question on "What does the Bible say about ghosts / hauntings?" as I read it I thought of the witch at Endor and the spirit of Samuel as an example of the spirit of a dead person revisiting the living world. I know this was an exception allowed by God but wondered if the article should include this rather than say " If the term means “spirits of people who have died,” the answer is “no.” " ....even if just to clarify . . .

Thank you to the many of you who filled out the survey! We appreciate your feedback and are considering how to make many of the suggested improvements. A few items of note: The "newsletter" referred to in the survey is this monthly email. Sorry for any confusion about that! The "blog" referred to in the survey is the Team Blog at: http://team.gotquestions.org. We started the site last year as a way to archive newsletter content. We've also had some requests to use the Team Blog as an archive for Facebook discussions that might be of interest . . .

Employee of the Month: MELISSA HOUDMANN

November 2nd, 2014
We realized we never formally introduced you all to MeLissa Houdmann, Shea's wife, longtime officemate, and now officially a staff member of GotQuestions.org. She's pretty great 🙂   MeLissa was raised in Iowa where her parents managed Raccoon River Bible Camp, a Christian summer camp for kids and teens. She enjoyed her childhood very much and learned the value of hard work. As a child, she accepted God's gift of salvation and began growing in Him.   MeLissa later attended Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, MO, receiving a degree . . .

Giving Thanks for You!

November 2nd, 2014
In the survey, many of you mentioned the way you see the Holy Spirit at work in the Q&A process and in the ministry in general. It deeply blesses us to join together with you for the advancement of God's Kingdom. And clearly it deeply blesses many of you. The way God blesses us and ministers to us even as He uses us to bless and minister to others never ceases to amaze. Truly our God is worthy of all praise. May He be honored and glorified in your lives this month. May you know His smile and find many reasons to give Him thanks. May His joy . . .

Q&A Help – Legal Marriage Issue

November 1st, 2014
Dean Revell November 1 at 11:12am I dont really ever ask but I am stuck with a recent enquiry. I am looking for some guidance how to best deal with a young christian who appears to have 'secretly' married his childhood sweetheart because the state law says that marriage is only considered legal from 18 onwards. He states that he and his girl looked long and hard into the bible seeking whether they should do this or not but felt that the law was unjust and so decided to go ahead and marry, despite what the law says. Now, . . .
