TESTIMONIALS: From a questioner: "Dear GotQuestions Team, I don't have a question for you guys today, but rather I wanted to say THANK YOU for all the hard work you have put into building this website which is a great resource for many people. Although there have been times where I have very much disagreed with your answers to a specific question, I nonetheless enjoy reading your perspective and have learned a lot from this site. I reference it all the the time from my home here in the Middle East. God bless and have a great day! In Christ, Jordan" From . . .

Note on Frequent Questioners

August 1st, 2016
As many of you know, we have several frequent questioners. Some have told us they have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Asperger's Syndrome, or another similar issue. Others seem angry at God. And others we're not really sure about. We attempt to answer all questioners with grace and pray they will be able to see truth. But we also want to use resources wisely and protect our writers. So we do flag these questioners and try to keep an eye on their questioning activity. That being said, we obviously can't do this alone. So please feel free to cut off . . .

Writing Tips

August 1st, 2016
- As you probably know from personal experience, people often scan writing on the web, be it in an article or an email. So it can be helpful to keep paragraphs short and try to make the main points easily scan-able. - Some questions require research, but how can we tell if the resource is trustworthy? It probably goes without saying, but if the site has a Statement of Faith, check it out to see if you agree with it. You can also look at the "About" sections of sites and perhaps do some further research on the organization or people behind them. . . .

Question: Read 1 Corinthians chap 5 vs 5. What does it mean? Answered by: Dawn James, who has been a volunteer with us since June, 2012. Answer: Just to be clear, the sentence in 1 Cor. 5:5 starts in v. 4, so 1 Cor. 5:4-5 says, "In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, along with my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus." Most of the book of 1 Corinthians deals with serious issues within . . .

From a questioner: "Dear reader, God has a purpose for all of us. Clearly, he gave you a purpose with GotQuestions.org. This website has served a very valuable service in my life. Some questions are personal, some aren't. With that in mind, I know I can come to this website for answers to my questions. May God bless you abundantly and graciously. Thank you greatly for your assistance. As I dig deeper into the bible, I find myself asking questions about the different authors of this great series of books. This is one question that I have been pondering . . .

Mark your calendars – 15th Anniversary Celebration coming Summer 2017

July 1st, 2016

As you saw from Shea’s email earlier this month, 2017 will mark GotQuestions.org’s 15-year anniversary! Many of you have already expressed interest in gathering in Colorado Springs for a celebration next June (which we hope can be a combination of fellowship with other GQ writers, some training, and family vacation for you). If you are interested in attending and have not already let us know, please email Questions@GotQuestions.org. We’ll keep you updated on the details.

Question: I keep hearing atheists use the argument "the burden of proof is on the theist to prove there is a god". Is this a logically sound argument on any level? I have no idea how to respond to this statement because it seems impossible to refute. While I am a firm believer in the Christian God, this is a tricky one for me. What can a Christian say in response to this atheistic argument? Answered by: Larry Starkey, who has been a volunteer with us since October, 2015. Answer: You are right -- atheists like to think they hold a default position . . .
