Writing Tips

August 1st, 2016

– As you probably know from personal experience, people often scan writing on the web, be it in an article or an email. So it can be helpful to keep paragraphs short and try to make the main points easily scan-able.
– Some questions require research, but how can we tell if the resource is trustworthy? It probably goes without saying, but if the site has a Statement of Faith, check it out to see if you agree with it. You can also look at the “About” sections of sites and perhaps do some further research on the organization or people behind them. Often Googling that organization will bring up helpful indicators of whether they are trustworthy. If you rely significantly on outside resources, please cite them in your response so as to avoid plagiarism.
o One great tool for research is the search engine SeekFind.org.
