(https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/…) For and against seem to be opposed to one another so I'm guessing that this Hebrew word is not translated very easily into English. Can someone help clarify its meaning? Bible Gateway passage: Genesis 3:16 - English Standard Version To the woman he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain . . .

Cory Carwile April 24, 2015 OK GotQuestions family, I have a bit of a tricky one. I've been mulling it over last night and this morning, and I think I have a broad idea of where I want to go with the answer, but because of all the emotions and social issues tied up in the matter, I was wondering if any of you had run into a question like this: "Is there a difference between the kind of violent rape we see today and the 'rape' of the Old Testament? Should we support the safety of the individual? (I assume they are also referring to the issue of allowing men to enter women's bathrooms and women to enter men's restrooms...per the recent controversy regarding transgender people.)
