Praises and Prayer Requests – June 2015
Thank you for praying for us. This month please specifically pray:
1. That our questioners would come with genuinely seeking hearts and receive God's truth. Pray that His Word would do its work and they would come to know Him more.
2. That our volunteers would remain energized for the ministry and would receive the encouragement they need. Please also pray for the personal lives of fellow writers—relationship with God, relationship with family, relationship with church and community, work situations, health, etc.
3. That we as a ministry . . .

Question: Is it wrong to decline the service of a deacon if one aspires the office of an overseer instead?
Answered by: Bill Stewart, who has been a volunteer with us since June 2003.
Answer: Thank you for your question.
1 Timothy 3:1-7, Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task. 2 Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not given to drunkenness, not violent 
In Matthew 27:53 it says some saints were raised from the dead after Jesus’ resurrection. Did these saints receive glorified bodies and ascend to heaven or did they just die again like Lazarus?
Also did Enoch and Elijah receive glorified bodies? They were taken to heaven without dying (Genesis 5:24, 2 Kings 2:11) but I imagine that if they remained in their sinful bodies that their sin nature would still wage war against the Spirit while in heaven.... So did God either 1.) Remove them from their sinful bodies and make them go around as ‘souls’
