Help on a Q about the Trinity

Hey guys would really appreciate your thoughts on this question I was assigned. Thanks

Question: I was reading the answer to the question about the Holy Trinity and realized that maybe a new way to describe it in human terms could be using the brain, the body, and the mind. The brain being the Father, the body being Christ, and the mind being the Holy Spirit. The brain is responsible for the functions of the body and mind but it is not the body and mind per say. The body caries out the works of the the brain much like Christ carried out the works of the Father. And the mind, all though not visible like the Holy Spirit, too is responsible for processing the works of the brain. Just a thought. hope it made sense, God Bless!

Jonathan Morales There are not too many good analogies to describe the trinity in human terms. It is, after all, a mystery. I wouldn’t compare the Father with the brain though, considering that God the Father is spirit Himself.

Grant McKenzie …actual analogy is mind, body, and spirit (or heart), not brain, mind, and body. In the analogy, the Father is the mind, the Son is the body, and the Spirit is, well, the spirit or the heart. Not making a judgment one way or the other on the analogy, just saying what it is.

Grant McKenzie “Mind” and “brain” are not the same thing. The “mind” is the center of reason and logical thought that goes beyond mere instinctual learning common in the animal kingdom. All animals have some sort of “brain,” but only human beings have a “mind.”

Vincent Trigili No analogy will ever “work” or be correct – that is not the point. The point is to help understand a very hard concept by simplifying it to something we mere humans can understand. I think that if a given analogy helps a given person and it does not take divinity and unity away from the three persons, then it is a “good enough” one.
