Prayer Requests – November 2015

November 2nd, 2015
1. Please pray for our sites to run smoothly and for people to be able to easily locate the information they need. Pray especially that God would take our meager offering and multiply it as only He can. Pray that His truth would be made known. 2. As you may know, depression often increases over holidays and during the winter. Please pray against the negative effects of depression for fellow writers and for questioners. Pray also for wisdom as we interact with people who are hurting. 3. Please pray for fellow volunteers to be uniquely encouraged . . .

Scripture for November

November 2nd, 2015

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, ESV)

“Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen” (Jude 1:24-25, ESV)

When I read their page, I did not see any reference to Jesus so I wrote and asked them what does Eben Alexander do with Jesus? You can probably guess-the condensed version is that Jesus was a prophet. I forwarded it to a Biblically knowledgeable friend who said it was a cult and "preterism"-to google it. I had never heard . . .

Discussion on paranormal and GQ’s article

November 2nd, 2015
Jed Kramer November 1, 2015 I asked a group of teens I work with what they'd like to study this past week. They said 'spirits, ghosts, paranormal'. So, I put a brief scripture study together for them (pasted at the bottom if you're interested). The discussion was far richer than I thought it might be. I was encouraged that they were able to identify unhealthy spiritual practices and experimentation in today's culture. I was further encouraged that most of them had a great grasp of God's power and protection over us. . . .
