Learning from Serving with GQ

February 15th, 2015

Wow, thanks, GQ, for assigning me the question, “Who is Athaliah”! It really caused me to stop and look at the accounts of her in 2 Kings and 2 Chronicles, and doing so enriched the story about her and how God dealt with her. I’ve learned a lot by preparing this answer. Thank you!

  • Wendyl Leslie Like you, Laura, I too oftentimes learn so much more about the Bible when researching for some of the questions I’m assigned. This is just one of the many blessings associated with being a part of the GotQuestions ministry.
  • Laurel J. Davis Yes, one of many!
  • Marc Weiss I was thinking the same thing about mine …………… until I read yours. I think mine is OK now LOL – This was mine: What dose the KJV Bible say about someone who is a ENABLER who provides excuses and makes it possible to avoid consequences of substance abuse and is a Christian.
  • LamarandCarolyn Hayes This is an ongoing happening with me. I grow a little more everytime I receive a question. Thanks Got Questions !
  • Laurel J. Davis Interesting, Marc! I wonder why the specific mention of the KJV?
  • Marc Weiss Laurel – I will answer him with a polite “All Hebrew Bibles say…”. I don’t want to make too much of it as I do not know whether I am dealing with a KJV only, someone who things that would be the Hebrew Bible’s name, or whether he meant a ‘true Bible’. I mean, I prefer the ESV, but that does not make the NIV or NAS wrong. That is just my preference. Sometimes I try to read the KJV and I get confused. I may throw him a bone here and go for the NKJV. It’ll be polite…
  • Laurel J. Davis I’m curious to see your answer. I’m likely to learn something once again!
  • Marc Weiss I did not mean to hijack your thread at all LOL – I will be glad to though! Mine will be more diplomacy and some reaching with all of the ANDs in that sentence.
  • Laurel J. Davis Let the Lord lead you, both in answering the question and hijacking people’s posts!
