1. Please always feel free to conclude your answers with a brief Gospel presentation. It might be helpful to have a standard conclusion for all your responses. For example, one of our writers, Larry, puts the following:
“The most important thing is that you believe in God, and that Jesus is the Son of God, and that He died on the cross for your sins, and on the third day He rose from the dead. If you confess this with your mouth and believe this in your heart, you will be saved and you will have your place in Heaven with Jesus. Amen!
John 14:3: And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am.
Romans 10:9: If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’ And believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
2. When answering apologetics questions, or if you ever get into a circular discussion with a questioner, remember that, as one of our writers, Jed, reminded us on Facebook, proof and persuasion are two different things:
“Proving a point perfectly will not guarantee that a person changes their beliefs or behaviors. Circular or adversarial conversations typically arise when no amount of proof will persuade. … Jesus’ teachings were an amazing blend of air-tight, masterful persuasion without any hint of manipulation. He addressed the heart and desires of his audiences perfectly. If a heart was turned against him, he moved on and let haters hate rather than beating a dead horse.”
