Dianna was an Air Force brat born in Alaska and moved around for the next decade until her family landed in Colorado. She grew up in a non-religious home and was quite baffled about the whole “God thing” until she started working at a tourist trap in Gunnison, CO during her sophomore year of college. The owner found out she had no belief system and from that moment, he was on a mission to teach her about the saving grace of Christ. It only took two years to convince her that God was the real deal and definitely Someone worth living for.
Through a series of circumstances that can only be explained by God’s weaving of lives together, Dianna began working with teen writers in 2005 via an online forum she created. She soon realized that the forum was less about writing and more about God connecting her with young teenage girls who lacked a mentor to guide them—girls who were alone, wounded, and in need of genuine friendship.
The forum members provided the friendship, and Dianna was able to mentor dozens of the girls personally. She has since met many of them (and their parents) in person, and some relationships have strengthened so much that her home has become a safe haven for both in-state and out-of-state girls going through life transitions.
Dianna came on staff at Got Questions in August 2012 after another series of God-driven events . She began as the editor of Blogos.org, contributing her own column called Divine Memorabilia. In early 2013, she passed that baton and helped launch the new teen site for Got Questions, 412teens.org. She has been writing, editing, and managing for 412teens ever since.
Dianna and her husband, Heath, were married in 1998. They have two wonderfully crazy kids and three socially awkward cats.
Favorite part of her job: Working with her highly-talented and quirky 412teens writers; providing answers for teens who are truly hurting and in need of real encouragement.
Things she likes to do: Go on dates with her kids; watch movies with friends; listen to audiobooks; play board/card games; discover amazing yet unknown musicians or independent films.
Funny quirk: Dianna likes practically every type of music out there, with the exception of songs splattered with profanity or excessive amounts of loud shrieking.
