5 Love Languages as a resource

November 24th, 2014

Is there anyone on who can tell me if we’re allowed to refer people to Gary Chapman’s Love Language Test as a helpful resource? I know, I’m waiting until the last minute. The question is due in about 20 minutes. I’m putting the reference in, but feel free to take it out if you need to. I couldn’t find any information on the website regarding the ministry’s stance on this particular author/speaker/counselor and the love languages books.

  • Marc Weiss Yes. We even give it as a resource to couples in our church. It is not a substitute for God, but a good way to learn about yourself and each other on the horizontal level.
  • Steve Ray Webb How do you know a question is due in 20 minutes? I seldom even know what day it is due!
  • Marc Weiss I presume it was 11:40 Eastern time – Been there, done that.
  • Sarah Van Baale Yeah – I didn’t even get home until 10pm that night. I knew it was due, but the end of the week is so hectic around here. As I was writing out my answer this test came into my head because I have used it personally with my older children and I thought it might be helpful to the questioner. I always hesitate to recommend other resources, so I thought IF someone happened to be on, I’d ask before I hit the submit button!
  • Gwen Sellers Such a great book! And thank you for asking, Sarah. Outside resources can get tricky sometimes … Hope you got some rest in this weekend and not just work
  • Elizabeth DeVore We use it at the office, too. If memory serves, everyone was words of affirmation except me. I suspect MeLissa is service, like me.
