Note from Gwen for February 2025

February 3rd, 2025

Happy February, all! As you look ahead to what this month has in store, Valentine’s Day might be on your mind. I always appreciate that as a reminder of God’s love for us and His call for us to love others. The “love” associations with Valentine’s Day are myriad—ranging from preschool class parties to familial love to friendships to budding romances to the depth of love built in marriages over decades. These can all serve as pictures of God’s love for us. But even the deepest human love we know is only a taste and reflection of the fullness of God’s love for us. God’s love is so unfathomable that, rather than try to extol it here, I’m going to encourage you to spend some time meditating on God’s agape love yourself. Likely you have some favorite passages that talk about God’s love. I’d suggest Psalm 136, Ephesians 3:14–19, 1 John 4:7–12, and 1 Corinthians 13.

Wherever this newsletter finds you and whatever this month holds for you, may you rest in the truth of God’s abiding love for you. Thank you for being so enraptured by His love and truth that you freely share it with others so that they, too, may know and love Him. It’s our joy to serve with you!

This month, I pray your hearts will be more deeply at rest in the wonder of the reality of God’s vast love. May you know Him in new ways, delight in Him ever more fully, and rejoice in the reality that you belong to the God who sees you, knows you, loves you completely, and eagerly invites you in. Thank you for sharing the security of His truth and the greatness of His love with questioners. We so appreciate each of you being part of the GQM Team!

In Christ,

Gwen (for the Got Questions Ministries Staff)
