GQM Value Spotlight: Gospel Centered

January 2nd, 2025

We explain this value as “Upholding and proclaiming the life-transforming good news of the gospel as the ultimate solution to every spiritual question.” We’re only here because of the amazing truth of salvation, and we want to share this good news liberally with questioners. Here are some practical ways to do so:

  • Be on the lookout for times a gospel reminder or presentation fits naturally into a response. It’s best when sharing the truth about salvation is part of the writing flow and not an add-on.
  • Often, a question arises due to a basic misunderstanding of the gospel. When that’s the case, answer the question asked, but be sure to back up to build the proper foundation first.
  • If the questioner has indicated they are uncertain of their salvation, or something in the question makes you wonder, feel free to gently probe. A sentence or two expressing curiosity, or perhaps providing a link to a gospel-presentation page (https://www.gotquestions.org/Gospel-presentations.html) or inviting the questioner to reply if they’re not sure about their relationship with God, can open the door.
  • Feel free to include a personal note that shows your gratitude for the person and work of Jesus. Letting the joy of the Lord naturally shine through, and explicitly linking it to the gospel, can be a great way to share.
