Answer: Thank you for your question. In asking what is the power of praising God, I think we have to ask ourselves why it is important to praise God. God is good, He is powerful, He is wise, He is merciful, He is gracious, He is faithful, He keeps his promises, and so much more. Praising God keeps us mindful of who He is and what He has done for us. Sometimes, we really don’t feel like praising God, especially when we’re right in the middle of a difficult situation. It feels difficult to praise Him because we can feel like God has let us down or He doesn’t care. But, even though we might feel like that, it doesn’t make it true. We have to choose to remember His attributes, to fix our eyes on Him, and praise Him in those storms because He will take on the burden for us if we give it over to Him. He can release the grip that our struggles have on us. “Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands” (Psalm 63:3-4). When we praise God, our hearts are refreshed and renewed in His presence. We are strengthened by Him and even if our situations don’t change immediately, God is always at work on our hearts.

I hope this has been helpful, but if you have more thoughts or questions, please do not hesitate to follow up. God bless!
