Born in rural Pennsylvania, Gwen moved to Colorado Springs at the age of seven and happily calls it home. Spending her college years in Spokane, WA at Whitworth University made Gwen extra-grateful for the sunshine and beauty of Colorado. She also feels blessed to live so close to her parents. Though Gwen’s sister decided to move back to Pennsylvania, she still enjoys watching her three nephews grow up from afar.
Gwen graduated from Whitworth in 2007 with a degree in English—Writing, hoping to write for a Christian ministry. But God had other plans and she spent five years in various legal administrative positions. In 2009, Gwen found out about GotQuestions and became a volunteer question-answerer. In September 2012, she joined the full-time staff. In the fall of 2011, Gwen contemplated counseling and began a master’s program at Colorado Christian University, which she is mere months away from completing.
Gwen’s deepest heart’s desire is to know true life and fully experience God’s freedom, joy, and delight. She especially enjoys encouraging others, one-on-one conversations, and learning new things.
Gwen’s job: Edit for CompellingTruth.org; question assigning/approving/answering; writing blogs or articles; writing the monthly newsletter; sending anniversary cards to our writers; and various proofing.
Favorite part of her job: Interacting with our volunteers (you all are awesome and so encouraging to me!); getting to know co-workers; working in the Q&A system; laughing often; and getting to synthesize and share what God is teaching me.
Things she likes to do: Exercise; connect with friends; hang out with parents; laugh; dance; and bake.
Funny quirk: I find cleaning very cathartic. And my co-workers used to think I was an alien, so that tells you something right there.
